I-CAR to reveal study on industry KPIs

Oct. 31, 2012

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 31, 2012—I-CAR, in conjunction with Honda, will hold a press conference Thursday to discuss a range of topics, including information from a recent study on repair facility key performance indicators (KPIs).

According to a release_notes from I-CAR, Jim Roach, Honda vice president of parts and service, will join I-CAR CEO John Van Alstyne at 9:30 a.m. in the media room of the Las Vegas Convention Center for the event, which will highlight how more and more vehicle manufacturers are turning to I-CAR for training.

Certain manufacturers are requiring their network repair facilities to achieve I-CAR’s industry-recognized Gold Class Professionals designation, the company said in the statement. Those manufacturers include Nissan/Infiniti, Chrysler and Honda. Also, 15 other vehicle manufacturers include the I-CAR Welding Qualification Series or other I-CAR training as a requirement for their network programs.

Roach and Van Alstyne will discuss the Gold Class program, as well as Honda’s recently launched ProFirst Program.

Also on the agenda is a discussion on the “linkage between I-CAR training and KPI improvement in cycle time, touch time, rework, CSI, and revenue,” the release said.
I-CAR’s “OEM Repair Procedures” will also be discussed.
