FenderBender announces call for entries for 2010 awards

June 1, 2010

FenderBender magazine has announced a call for entries for its 2010 FenderBender Awards. The awards, which are sponsored by DuPont Performance Coatings, celebrate the achievements of six individuals who have positively impacted the collision repair industry through their leadership and innovation. FenderBender also launched a website, fenderbenderawards.com, where nominators can enter their submissions online.

The six categories for the 2010 FenderBender Awards are:
• Executive—A shop owner or CEO;
• Management—The person who runs a shop on day‐to‐day basis;
• Administrative support—Front office staff members, including estimators;
• Shop worker—Shop floor employees;
• Vendor;
• Wild card—Anyone else who touches the collision repair industry.

One person from each of these categories will be selected for an award. The deadline for submissions is July 23 at 11:59 p.m. CST. The honorees will be featured with profiles in the October 2010 issue of FenderBender, which will be showcased at the NACE expo in October in Las Vegas.

“It was a wonderful opportunity. Customers come in and see your name in the magazine, and it helps the business,” said Alexandra Amabile, owner of Like New Auto Body in Perth Amboy, N.J., and 2009 FenderBender Award winner. The FenderBender Award sparked coverage in the local media, Amabile said, giving her shop a higher profile and more business.
