Aug. 6, 2015—A Fox Business report released on Wednesday highlighted the unique packages that companies put together to retain top talent.
Benefits have become more important than ever, the report said, and the more appealing they are, the more likely a talented employee will work for your business.
A 2013 article in FenderBender outlined the importance of solid benefits packages, and how collision businesses can use them to their benefit.
The Fox report stemmed from Netflix’s recently announced decision to give its workers up to a year off after the birth or adoption of a baby—an unlikely option for many smaller businesses.
But other companies offered a number of realistic options that collision shops could have capacity to implement.
For instance, Online rental service Airbnb, according to the report, pays part of its employee’s personal travel expenses; payment processor Square offers “wellness” programs; and website-building service Weebly gives employees $50 per month to help pay for house cleaning and errands.
These are some of the most unique examples, and the report outlined a handful more, but putting together an appealing package will benefit your shop in the long run. As stated in FenderBender’s previous article, these are the things to keep in mind when putting an employee benefit package together: health insurance, income support opportunities, retirement plan, and workplace policies such as PTO and paid training.
