Honda Motor Co. Ltd. said it will resume production and shipment of component parts for use in automobile production in regions outside Japan on Monday, April 4, 2011. Production had been halted due to the earthquake and tsunami.

The automaker cautioned that the parts supply situation remains fluid, and production of component parts and vehicles at Honda plants will resume at approximately 50 percent of the original production plan. Honda said it will carefully monitor the situation and manage its operations accordingly.

The company also said it will resume production of finished automobiles at the Sayama plant at Saitama factory (Sayama, Saitama) and at the Suzuka factory (Suzuka, Mie) on April 11. All Honda production plants in Japan will be in operation as of that date, the company said.
