The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Friday, July 10 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Axalta’s Surface Preparation Process.”

Vehicle refinish begins with a solid base and this is achieved by following a strict surface preparation process in accordance with industry standards. The goal is to deliver maximum corrosion protection while providing the best adhesion between the substrate and the layers in the paint film. This Axalta® session will be presented by Gordon Wry, Axalta technical instructor, and is designed to review surface preparation basics, identify the steps to properly clean the surface, review the role of each undercoat used in the refinish process and some basic steps when painting plastic parts. The webinar will also review the preparation process of a blend panel. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
