Zubie Partners with Automakers to Understand Vehicle Data

June 28, 2016

June 28, 2016—Zubie, a connected-car platform and telematics provider, announced Tuesday that it has formed partnerships with major automakers to use its data and analytics to enhance the manufacturers’ understanding of vehicle performance and reliability.

The Zubie platform works in most vehicles and offers aggregated data that provides an understanding of car behavior down to a specific model. Zubie has entered into an agreement to provide a global automaker with select aggregated data. It is also in talks with several other automakers.

"The promise of the connected car has always been the ability to collect and utilize detailed but anonymous data on a mass scale for many purposes including making cars more reliable and driving more safe," Zubie COO Prag Shah said in a statement. "Achieving the level of scale and depth that makes our data meaningful to car makers is a major milestone for Zubie. Auto makers are under increasing pressure to speed up product development cycles and continually improve quality. Our data aggregation and analytics capabilities meet their needs by helping them understand performance and diagnostics of specific models in real world usage."

Zubie’s platform provides data on vehicles such as RPM, miles driven, speed, battery voltage, engine diagnostics and other elements, while ensuring that no private customer information is shared. The platform also takes into account location, weather and traffic conditions. The collected data helps automakers understand vehicle performance under a variety of conditions.
