General Motors' public outline of its contract offer promises 5,400 jobs to the UAW and $7 billion in U.S. investment over the next four years. 

Sept. 20, 2019—General Motors public outline of its contract offer promises 5,400 jobs to the UAW and $7 billion in U.S. investment over the next four years, reported The Detroit Free Press.

According to the report, about half of the jobs would be new and the rest counted in the total would be considered retained. The $7 billion would be invested in facilities with UAW representation.

Much of the offer remained on the table Wednesday and talks resumed Thursday. All the terms are still being negotiated.
