NABC Adds New Award, Extends Deadline

Sept. 17, 2015

Sept. 17, 2015—The National Auto Body Council (NABC) announced on Wednesday a new category—Excellence in Community Service—to its annual awards program and extended the deadline for nominations in all categories.

The NABC’s annual awards program recognizes individuals and companies in the collision world whose philanthropic and charitable efforts have made a significant impact in their local communities.

The deadline for nominations in all categories has been pushed back to Oct. 15. The winners for all three NABC awards will be announced during the Collision Industry Conference during the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The new award, Excellence in Community Service, was created to celebrate outstanding charitable efforts and volunteerism by collision industry businesses. The award recognizes exceptional service initiatives that improve the quality of life for individuals or the community at large.

“Our industry is full of generous individuals and businesses who donate their time, talent and resources and have made a beneficial impact in their communities and in our industry,” said Marie Peevy, chair of the National Auto Body Council’s 2015 Awards Program. “We encourage our colleagues to send nominations about their own service initiatives or those of other individuals and companies whose efforts exemplify the professionalism and integrity of our collision industry.”

NABC’s other awards include:

  • The Award of Distinction recognizes individuals for bravery, philanthropy, charity and selfless acts of kindness. Any individual, business organization, or group employed in a collision industry-related segment, such as collision repair facility, vehicle manufacturer, supplier/vendor, educator, insurer, independent appraiser or trade association is eligible to be nominated.
  • The Body Shop Image Award recognizes the most significant improvements made to a shop’s interior and exterior.  Any body shop completing a remodeling during the calendar year 2014 is eligible to be nominated. One winner and three runners-up will be recognized.

Online nominations and more information is available at the NABC’s website.
