CARSTAR gives away Hertz Shelby Mustang

May 9, 2011

May 9, 2011 — CARSTAR in partnership with Hertz recently gave a limited edition 2007 Hertz Shelby Mustang GT to a Panama City, Fla. resident who didn’t own a car.

Velda Lynn Savage won the vehicle in the CARSTAR Hertz Shelby Mustang Sweepstakes, according to a news release_notes about the contest. Savage, who works at a local arcade, said she and her husband were facing financial challenges, but they were Ford Mustang enthusiasts, having once owned a 1974 model.

“Thank you so much CARSTAR for the opportunity to own a piece of Mustang history,” Savage said. “I was elated to find out I was the grand prize winner and thrilled to take home the Hertz Shelby Mustang.”

Bobby Likis, host of the Bobby Likis Car Clinic network radio show, and Bill Garoute, associate vice president and marketing executive for CARSTAR, presented the vehicle with Hertz representatives.

“When you can give away a special car like this Hertz Shelby Mustang and help make an impact in someone’s life like Velda Lynn’s, that makes it all worthwhile,” Garoutte said.

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts operates more than 380 locally owned and operated facilities in 30 states and 10 Canadian provinces. Hertz runs more than 8,500 rental-car stores in 146 countries.
