Tong Yang Industry Co. First Company Approved to Use New CAPA Label

Aug. 10, 2016

Aug. 10, 2016—The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) announced Wednesday that Tong Yang Industry Co. has become the first company to be approved to use CAPA’s new label for certified plastic parts that have low volatile organic compound (VOC) primer.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to use the new CAPA Waterborne Low VOC Primer on our CAPA Certified parts,” Nick Sun, assistant vice president of Tong Yang Industry Co., said. “In addition to showing our parts meet CAPA’s comprehensive certification requirements, we can also show our new primer meets industry acceptance criteria for low VOC emissions.”

To earn approval to use the new label, Tong Yang’s primer underwent chemical testing for VOC content and was found to conform to SCAQMD Rule 1115 Section 1(C), by the CAPA Validator, Intertek. Tong Yang’s waterborne primer process was also audited.

“Tong Yang has participated in the CAPA Certification program since 1987, and we are happy to be able to support their continued growth with the our Waterborne Low VOC Primer label,” Debbie Klouser, CAPA director of operations, said.
