NIADA Members, Foundation Help in Texas Flood Relief Efforts

Aug. 7, 2015

Aug. 7, 2015—Members of the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the NIADA Foundation assisted in rebuilding and relief efforts after a spring flood hit Texas.

On July 30, NIADA past president Keith Hagler presented a $15,600 check to the Austin Disaster Relief Network to aid the efforts around Taylor, Texas. The presentation was made at the First Baptist Church of Taylor.

Hager lives in Taylor, where he is owner and operator of Taylor Auto Credit. Hagler recommended a donation to ADRN, a church-based charity created to help those in need, after he saw first-hand the damage done in his community by the flood.

NIADA chairman Arlan Kuehn saw the news stories and contacted Hagler to find out how he could help.

At the NIADA Convention and Expo in June, Kuehn announced he would donate to ADRN and invited all other NIADA members to contribute. In all, $7,800 was raised, and the NIADA Foundation matched that total.

ADRN executive director Daniel Geraci said his organization is helping 70-80 families in Taylor with rebuilding and restoring their homes.

The donation is part of the NIADA Foundation’s renewed commitment to charitable giving.
