Lincoln Electric Introduces New ‘Auto-Darkening’ Welding Helmet

April 17, 2014

April 17, 2014—Lincoln Electric announced on Tuesday that it has released the latest version of its VIKING auto-darkening welding helmet, designed to improve optics and comfort.

New features for the VIKING-2 series include a pivot-style headgear for greater comfort, and also a three-year warranty.

The auto-darkening cartridges in the new helmet offer a EN 379-1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating. The ratings correspond to four important categories. Each category is graded on a scale of 1–3, with a score of 1 representing the highest optical quality rating, and 3 representing the lowest. The new VIKING-2 Helmets score a perfect 1/1/1/1 clarity rating.
