July 19, 2011

July 19, 2011 — Cristina Fronzaglia, manager of marketing and communications for automotive refinish at PPG, was recently recognized as the Goodguys 2011 Woman of the Year.

Goodguys, the world’s largest rod and custom association, has presented the ward since 1991 to a female industry executive who serves to preserve the integrity and growth of the hot-rodding industry, according to a news release_notes from PPG. Fronzaglia received the award at the Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.

“The fact that the Goodguys association chose to recognize Cristina for her contributions is well-deserved,” said John Outcalt, vice president of global automotive refinish for PPG. “As a valued member of our refinish team, she has a very special talent for getting people excited about paint, color, and all its possibilities. She really knows how to make PPG shine in any environment.”

John Drummond, communications director for Goodguys, said Fronzaglia’s “acute sense of color and taste, her creativity and boundless energy as a promoter of our industry made her an easy choice.”

Fronzaglia joined PPG in 1993 as a sales trainee and worked in a variety of sales and product-management positions before taking on her current role in 2005. She also leads the company’s promotion efforts for its Vibrance Collection of custom colors.

“It’s our job to help the custom car creators’ and rebuilders’ dreams come true by providing them the exact color that matches their vision of a project,” Fronzaglia said in accepting the award.
