March 22, 2011 — Texas-based Service King Collision Repair Centers on Tuesday announced plans to acquire Alamo Body and Paint’s eight large, high-volume stores in San Antonio.
The transaction was expected to close May 1. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Service King said the move makes it the largest independently and employee owned collision repair company in the nation, with 42 locations throughout San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.
“The reason Service King is the largest employee-owned collision repair center in the United States is because the people in this company care about their customers and the trauma they go through after a collision,” said Service King founder, owner and CEO Eddie Lennox. “At Service King we don’t just fix wrecked cars; we help make people’s lives easier. And we do it with a team that puts their hands and their hearts completely into their work always taking pride in the service we give and the company that we own.”
Mark Fuller, Alamo Body and Paint's co-owner and president, will join Service King as operations manager.
"We are very excited about Alamo Body and Paint joining the Service King Team," he said. “For the past twenty-five years, our success has been driven by our unrelenting focus on complete satisfaction and respect for our customers and employees."
Lennox started Service King as a one-man operation 35 years ago in Dallas. For more information about the company, visit serviceking.com.
