NACE 2010: FenderBender goes live at NACE 2010

Oct. 8, 2010

Oct. 8, 2010—FenderBender will be at the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) 2010 with live coverage of the events.

FenderBender’s website, fenderbender.com, will have videos, stories and a live Twitter feed with updates from NACE.

NACE 2010 will be held Oct. 10-13 in Las Vegas. More than 200 exhibitors and 21,000 people are expected to be in attendance.

This is the first year since 2003 that NACE will be its own, standalone event. NACE had been held in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show from 2004 through 2009.

NACE attendees have been asking for change, says Denise Caspersen, collision division manager for the Automotive Service Association (ASA). In 2004, NACE caught a lot of flak when it made the decision to co-locate with SEMA. The show’s repair advisory council, which meets every year following the event, decided to give independent repairers their week back, offering the show as it had been for 20 years, from 1983 to 2003. Caspersen says making NACE its own, standalone event will give the venue a new, refreshed feel.

“Prior to 2004, NACE was focused on best serving the needs of the independent collision repair industry with outstanding education, a focused exhibitor line-up and limited distractions. We wanted to reintroduce [NACE] as an independent show,” Caspersen says.

Lindsay Roberts, show management director for Hanley Wood Exhibitions, which organizes NACE, adds: “Our customers felt like they were little fish in a big pond with NACE held during the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW). They want a week dedicated solely to the shop professional.”
