Chevrolet taking nationwide orders for 2012 Volt

June 10, 2011

June 10, 2011 — Chevrolet dealers throughout the country on Friday will begin taking orders for the 2012 Volt.

Pricing will start at $39,995, or $32,496 with a federal tax credit of $7.500, and go up to $46,265 for a loaded model. The base price, which also includes an $850 destination freight charge, is more than $1,000 below the cost of a 2011 model.

A wider range of options and configurations along with national production, rather than the limited state production of the 2011 model, make the lower price possible, according to Chevrolet. Buyers will be able to choose from seven option packages compared to three this year.

“We are giving consumers greater choice of content as the Volt becomes available nationwide by the end of this year,” said Cristi Landy, Volt marketing director. “This gives us the opportunity to be more flexible in our pricing and still provide additional high-tech content to customers who want to purchase it.”

Nationwide availability of the 2012 Volt will initially be limited as deliveries will occur in phases. To find participating dealers, click here.
