Tesla Planning Second Dealership in Colo.

The board of trustees in Superior, Colo., on Tuesday approved plans to install a Tesla sales and service center in the Denver suburb. News of the dealership did not mention if the facility would offer collision repair services.

April 11, 2018—The board of trustees in Superior, Colo., on Tuesday approved plans to install a Tesla sales and service center in a downtown development complex, according to The Boulder Daily Camera newspaper. The new facility would be the second Tesla location of its kind in Colorado; the OEM also has a dealership in Littleton.

The Superior facility will likely open in early 2019, according to company officials. According to the newspaper report, some in Superior have expressed concerns about plans for a fairly large, warehouse-like structure along the town’s main thoroughfare.

The roughly 2.4 acre, 22,000-square foot Tesla structure is expected to include sales, service and delivery operations and employ 40 people The proposal notes that nearly 70 percent of the building will be devoted to service. The newspaper did not mention if the dealership would offer collision repair services.

Jon Hardy and Jonathan Power, of Game Creek Holdings, and Superior were joint applicants in the new development.
