DuPont launches advanced damage analysis training

Oct. 16, 2012

Oct. 16, 2012—DuPont Performance Coatings (DPC) has added a new damage analysis course to the DuPont Performance Services program.

DPC has trained more than 5,000 estimators and managers through its original damage analysis course, which debuted in the 1990s. DPC said the development of a new advanced course, called Damage Analysis II, was part of a continuous improvement process. The course offers expanded content, new resources and interactive exercises.

DPC said the Damage Analysis II course addresses the following topics:

• Concepts on repair judgment and the sector system from Damage Analysis I
• Refined material to eliminate supplements through refined blueprinting and repair planning processes
• Tips on parts management to optimize repair timelines
• Advanced structural damage analysis using computerized dimensioning systems
• Advanced refinish damage analysis to justify refinish times
• Writing estimates to comply with insurance guidelines for optimal scorecard results
• Negotiating best practices

Steve Trapp, performance services manager for DPC, said collision industry expert Mike Anderson of CollisionAdvice was the main content developer, and will serve as the primary instructor of the Damage Analysis II course. Several database companies, material manufacturers and frame equipment suppliers also offered insight, photos and exercise resources for the interactive training.
