KECO: Beyond the Tools
Glue Pull Repair (GPR) continues to expand what collision centers can repair, giving technicians new ways to address complex damage while preserving more of the vehicle's original panels and corrosion protection. But adding GPR equipment to the shop is only the first step.
To get the most from that investment, technicians need more than tools. They need a process, hands-on experience, and the confidence to know when and how to use them.
That is why KECO Body Repair Products has made training a key part of its approach to collision repair.
From Owning the Tools to Using the System
The KECO Premium Collision System gives collision technicians the tools needed to perform GPR throughout the repair process, combining pulling tools, lateral tension, lighting, tabs, knockdowns and other equipment in one shop-ready system.
But the value of that equipment is realized when technicians have the knowledge and confidence to put it to work.
Technicians must learn to read damage, understand metal movement, select the right pulling method, establish and maintain lateral tension, and recognize how each step affects the next.
KECO training is designed to develop those skills through hands-on instruction. Rather than focusing only on how individual tools operate, technicians learn how those tools work together as part of a complete repair strategy.
A Process Technicians Can Repeat
At the center of KECO training is the 6C Process: Check, Choose, Clean, Coat, Correct, Continue.
The process gives technicians a structured approach to GPR, beginning with damage analysis and repair planning before the first tab is ever pulled.
Technicians learn to evaluate the damage, choose the appropriate tools and strategy, properly prepare the panel and adhesive, correct the damage with controlled pulls and tension, and continue through the repair until the panel is ready for the next stage.
The goal is repeatability. Instead of treating GPR as a collection of individual tools and techniques, the 6C Process gives technicians a framework they can carry from one repair to the next.
Hands-On Training in Oklahoma City
KECO offers both two-day and five-day GPR training at its Oklahoma City training facility.
The two-day GPR Training is an intensive hands-on course focused on developing practical GPR skills and technician confidence. Topics include KECO's 6C Process, lighting and damage reading, tab and lifter selection, glue selection and setup, metal flow fundamentals, lateral tension, advanced GPR tool techniques, complex damage correction and hands-on repair exercises.
The five-day GPR+ Training takes that foundation further, providing additional time for instruction, application and repetition. Technicians work through damage analysis, metal flow, lighting, lateral tension, crown correction, round dent and crease repair, tab and glue selection, and push-to-paint repair concepts.
The additional training time allows technicians to work through real-world repair scenarios and develop the confidence to apply what they have learned when they return to the shop.
Bringing Training to the Shop
For collision centers that cannot send technicians to Oklahoma City, KECO also offers one-day and two-day on-site training.
These options bring KECO instruction directly into the collision center, allowing technicians to train in their own shop environment.
Whether training takes place at KECO or inside the collision center, the objective is the same: help technicians understand not just what GPR tools do, but when, why and how to use them effectively.
Turning an Investment into a Repair Process
For a collision center, investing in new equipment only creates value when that equipment becomes part of the repair process.
A trained technician is better equipped to identify GPR opportunities, develop a repair strategy and confidently use the tools available to them. That can help shops expand repair capabilities, preserve more original panels and get more value from their investment in GPR.
KECO's approach brings three pieces together: the system, the process and the training.
The Premium System provides the tools. The 6C Process provides the repair strategy. Hands-on training gives technicians the knowledge, repetition, and confidence to put both into practice.
Because expanding repairability isn't just about putting more tools in the shop, it's about giving technicians the confidence to use them.
