Aug. 23, 2011 — CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts and Airgas, Inc. on Monday announced a national preferred supplier agreement for welding supplies.

Airgas, based in Radnor, Penn., will supply welding and cutting gases, equipment and supplies, and personal protection equipment to CARSTAR’s 380-plus locations in North America.

“CARSTAR takes great pride in the quality services we offer our customers,” said Bill Garoutte, CARSTAR senior marketing executive. “To provide the best service, we chose to work with suppliers that share our concern for customers. Airgas provides the industry’s most complete line of quality gases, welding and safety products. They have a strong national presence and are known for their personal, local service.”

Graham Pratt, vice president for the Airgas retail market segment, said the partnership is good for both companies.

“CARSTAR gets the savings and convenience of using one source for core products their auto body repair facilities use every day,” Pratt said. “ And Airgas gets to demonstrate our supply chain expertise and the local service we’re known for, nationwide.”
