University Teams Prepare for Autonomous Competition

SAE International and General Motors is organizing an inaugural AutoDrive Challenge, in which teams will demonstrate their advancements over the last year in transforming a Chevrolet Bolt EV into a vehicle with self-driving capabilities. 

April 27, 2018—Student teams from eight universities will soon participate in an inaugural AutoDrive Challenge, a competition in which the teams will demonstrate their advancements over the last year in transforming a Chevrolet Bolt EV into a vehicle with self-driving capabilities.

The competition is organized by SAE International and General Motors, and will take place in Yuma. Ariz.

The competition will take place from April 30 to May 5.

This is the first year for the competition. By the end of the challenge’s third and final year, teams will be striving to accomplish Level 4 of SAE International’s Levels of Driving Automation.
