May 14, 2018—Elon Musk, Tesla Inc., chief executive, said Friday the automaker will start production of an all wheel-drive, dual motor performance Model 3 in July, reported MarketWatch.
Model 3 sedans with air suspension are likely coming next year, Musk said on Twitter.
At a conference call with analysts following first-quarter results earlier this month, Tesla kept intact the target of producing 5,000 Model 3 sedans a week by the end of the second quarter.
Tesla has moved the goal posts for Model 3 production at least twice. A previous target was for 2,500 Model 3 sedans a week by the end of first quarter; Tesla missed that one, reporting in early April a production rate of around 2,000 a week, said the report.
