NY Shop Owner Arrested For Insurance Fraud

The owner of an Amityville, NY, repair shop was arrested Friday for submitting fraudulent insurance claims.

Feb. 5, 2019—An Amityville, N.Y., shop owner was arrested Friday for submitting fraudulent insurance claims for repairs on vehicles, according to multiple reports, including from Patch.com.

Andrew Nuss, the owner of Village Line Auto Body, submitted fraudulent billing documentation for repairs on a vehicle between Dec. 12, 2018 and Jan. 23, 2019, police said.

Detectives from the Property/Auto Crime Unit conducted a joint investigation with the National Insurance Crime Bureau, New York State Department of Financial Services Insurance Fraud Unit, Allstate, MetLife Auto and Home.
