Mercedes-Benz is recalling approximately 29,000 cars from its 2018 and 2019 model years.

Dec. 3, 2019—Mercedes-Benz is recalling vehicles because a correctly latched seat belt may erroneously be identified as unfastened, reported Consumer Reports.
Audible and visual alerts will activate to notify the driver and passenger that a seat belt is not properly secured. This could also lead to other safety systems not properly functioning in the event of a crash, which could lead to injuries.
The recall covers 29,679 cars from the automaker's 2018 and 2019 model years. The recall was expected to begin Dec. 31, 2019.
