Dec. 28, 2018—A unique auto repair facility opened recently in Louisa, Ky., which aims to help rehabilitate employees recovering from addiction.

Last week, Second Chance Auto opened its doors for business, reports WYMT. Like most auto shops, the employees take in broken cars, and fix them. But the Kentucky business isn't just repairing cars, it's rebuilding people.

"What's most special about Second Chance Auto, is it's giving people a second chance at life," Matt Brown, a shop executive, said to WYMT.

Second Chance Auto most often addresses brakes and tire rotations.

"We have nine employees, six who are full-time employees and three who are in the training program," Brown said to WYMT. "Five of those people are people who used to be in addiction."

Brown was once in addiction, he's been clean for quite some time now and works for Addiction Recovery Care. ARC in general employs about 500 people, and more than half of them are in active recovery. Instead of your typical 30-day rehab, ARC workers give those in the program a purpose after recovery.

Second Chance Auto is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
