June 21, 2019—On a recent Guild 21 collision repair industry conference call, General Motors representatives focused on securing more member shops within the GM Collision Repair Network.
One company representative noted the importance of body shops using OEM repair procedures for every repair, noting that the average motorist will be involved in four accidents.
Sarah Booth, GM’s program manager, wholesale dealer channel, said the repair network “is really [where] the crossroads of business results, focus on safety, and the GM partner perks all intersect.
“So,” Booth added, “by participating in the program, you’re looking to close more work and improve your business results. … As a member of the CRN, you’re recognized as having the best in class facilities, up-to-date tools and equipment, and achieving stringent training requirements—and then that you share our commitment to proper and safe repairs.
“We don’t want to pull every shop in the industry into this program,” she added. “We want the best of the best eight to 10, maybe 12 percent of collision repair facilities in our program.”
