NABC F.R.E.E. Program Hosts Jaws-of-Life Demonstration

An educational demonstration for first responders at Fix Auto Escondido in California was held as part of the F.R.E.E. program.

The National Auto Body Council’s F.R.E.E. program recently held an educational demonstration for first responders at Fix Auto Escondido in California, according to a press release.

The June 24 event taught first responders from the Escondido and San Marcos Fire Departments in attendance about the advanced technology and tools needed to save victims of an automobile accident.

A demonstration was held on the use of the jaws of life, which is a hydraulic rescue tool containing spreaders, cutters, rams, and combinations that are used to extract crash victims from a vehicle as safely as possible.

Additionally, attendees were also given opportunities to network with other community members and received free Fix Auto USA merchandise. Many were given the chance to try on fire rescue gear and even take a photo with the Escondido Fire Department firetruck.

“As collision repair experts, it is essential for us to be informed on industry changes and challenges and the best way to approach them,” stated Fix Auto Escondido Owner Kirk Henson. “That is precisely why we hosted this event! Not only is it interesting and relevant to the field, but it is potentially life-saving information.”
