NABC Recycled Rides Provides Nashville Veterans With Transportation
The National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program recently donated a new vehicle each to two U.S. Army veterans in the Nashville, Tennessee area, according to a press release.
The two recipients, Nicole Leyva and BeCandice Brantley, were both nominated by Operation Stand Down. The giveaway ceremony was held at the Auto Body Parts Association Convention.
Nicole Leyva received a 2016 Kia Optima from GEICO that was restored by Crash Champions. She served for two years in the Army and is a single mother of two, now working as a nail artist. The vehicle she previously had suffered from leaks caused excessive smoke.
BeCandice Brantley received a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox from Nationwide and was restored by Nexterra Solutions. She served in the Army from 2005 to 2011 and is a member of Operation Stand Down. The vehicle she was driving was unreliable, with co-workers having to help her get to work.
Air Force veteran and owner of 3DE Towing, Desmond Smith, donated towing services for one of the vehicles and drove it himself from Knoxville for the recipient.
“I’m honored that I could play a part in providing these two deserving veterans reliable transportation and helping them on their path to independence,” Smith said.
