Arizona has now created the Institute for Automated Mobility (IAM), a consortium focused on autonomous vehicle research, safety and policy.
October 15, 2018—Arizona has created a research institute for autonomous vehicle research, safety and policy, reported Engadget.
The new consortium, Institute for Automated Mobility (IAM), will be overseen by the Arizona Commerce Authority, according the report.
Once it is finished, the IAM will include research facilities, simulation labs and a safety test track. A Traffic Incident Management center will integrate law enforcement and first responders with the technology.
