Feb. 13, 2019—Honda, Ford and Mazda have been engaging in an all-out communication blitz of late, including knocking on doors and trying to reach people in person regarding automotive recalls, according to Michigan Radio.
According to the report, the automakers in some cases have contacted people multiple times and have had no response. Some people have refused to get their vehicle repaired.
There are still about 35,000 of the unrepaired Honda and Acura cars on the road; about 5,000 2006 Ford Rangers; and about 500 2006 Mazda B-series trucks.
There are aging vehicles--made in 2001-03, in Honda's case--with the very earliest versions of defective air bags, known as "alpha" airbags.
