July 23, 2019—The Ford F-150 pickup has been added to a class-action lawsuit that alleges Ford misrepresented the fuel economy of its pickups and allegedly deceptively marketed the trucks' fuel efficiency, according to a report by The Detroit News.

The lawsuit seeks $1.2 billion in damages for the alleged fuel economy fraud. It was initially centered on the 2019 Ford Ranger. The suit has now been expanded to include the 2018-19 F-150 series trucks, according to the report.

Litigants say the suit could eventually be expanded to include other Ford vehicles, the newspaper reported.
