Toyota is recalling vehicles for a fault in the brake-assist systems in both cars.

Aug. 16, 2019—Toyota is recalling the 2019 Toyota Prius and RAV4 Hybrid for a fault in the brake-assist systems in both cars, reported CNET.
According to documents Toyota filed with the NHTSA, the recall surrounds an issue with the brake booster.
In total, the recall covers 6,925 vehicles built between April and June 2019. The automaker estimates 25 percent of the total number of recalled cars are affected by the defect.
If the brake booster fails in any of the recalled cars, it deactivates the Vehicle Stability Control system. Brake assist will not kick in if and when its required. The fault means each car does meet federal requirements for stability control systems.
