Aug. 19, 2019—Tesla has lost a $5 million order of 85 Model 3 vehicles from a rental company due to problems with service and quality of previous delivered cars, according to a report from Electrek.
Germany-based rental company "nextmove" had delivery of the first 15 cars earlier this year and experienced so many issues that they asked for a guarantee of service and quality from Tesla for the remaining 85 cars.
The rental company reported the Teslas had defects including defective tires, paint and body damages, defective charge controllers, wrong wiring harnesses and missing emergency call buttons. Tesla eventually canceled the order.
