Toyota Extends EV Battery Warranty

Oct. 14, 2019
Toyota has announced it is extending warranties on the hybrid battery in its 2020 lineup of hybrid vehicles.

Oct. 14, 2019—Toyota will be extending its hybrid battery warranty for 2020 vehicles, per a report by Digital Trends.

The warranty was previously covered for eight years and 100,000 miles. The warranty is being extended because the batteries last longer. The new warranty will cover ten years and 150,000 miles.

However, the warranty does not extend to the Hybrid Battery Control Module, Power Management Control Module or the Inverter. Those parts are still covered by the eight-year and 100,000-mile warranty.

This warranty is the longest-offered warranty in the industry that covers first ownership and all subsequent owners.
