Docomo, Valeo Team for Connected Car Tech

NTT Docomo, a Japanese mobile operator, and auto supplier Valeo have agreed on a technological innovation partnership.

April 16, 2018—NTT Docomo, a Japanese mobile operator, and auto supplier Valeo have agreed on a partnership to jointly develop mobility services largely centered around connected cars. The companies launched the partnership on April 13.

Docomo focuses much of its work on the wide usage of the Internet of Things (IOT) in the automotive realm. Valeo is an automotive supplier focused on developing various technologies, especially as they pertain to electrification, autonomous and connected vehicles.

Under the agreement, Valeo and Docomo will combine their expertises with regard to connected cars, including next-generation mobility services in the upcoming era of 5G, and enhanced controls for on-board equipment, among other technology-related matters. The companies plan to jointly develop new products and solutions and will gradually offer new mobility services for connected vehicles.
