LAS VEGAS — Sherwin-Williams celebrates its 150th anniversary and the launch of a new clearcoat line at SEMA 2016.

Since 1866, Sherwin-Williams has strived to focus on seven ideals: integrity, people, service, quality, performance, innovation and growth. Today, not much has changed as the company looks to the values of its founding fathers, which continue to drive Sherwin-Williams success and strength in the market.

Many of these ideals were highlighted at the 2016 SEMA Show, as Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes celebrated its historic anniversary with a salute to the past and a look to the future of the vehicle refinish industry.

The booth featured images and examples of historic product advances the company has introduced; how it is the only direct distribution paint manufacturer that services the collision industry through more than 190 company owned stores. Plus, its company trained Sherwin-Williams professionals provide industry leading expertise and best in class service directly to shops and shop owners.

This all means Sherwin-Williams and its professionals provide direct, in shop support to independent and dealership collision facilities and a standardized platform for MSOs looking for a consistent, repeatable and reliable experience across all markets.

The brand, however, is certainly more than just great paint, said Bryan Draga of SWAF. The booth highlighted how SWAF helps collision repair shops increase revenue by offering a variety of training and onsite consulting services to help grow their business. Shop owners and managers

The brand wants to be a place where customers come for expert, timely repairs while maximizing profitability by effectively getting vehicles through the facility. Sherwin-Williams understands that it takes more than just great products to maximize the potential and profitability of any shop. So it provides business-building programs like its acclaimed EcoLean® workshop series, shop Impact Assessments, Collision Repair Design Services, managed collision repair training, and award-winning Vision 20-Groups.

But, it wouldn’t be a SEMA Show without some new product innovation: in this case, the new Sherwin-Williams’ Dynamic Clearcoat CC200.

This is the launch of an entirely new category amongst premium clearcoats; it offers superior appearance in half the time of a typical clearcoat. Delivering consistent premium appearance, without sacrificing productivity, this clearcoat is designed for any painter, application and repair environment. With a fast application time and quick, low-temp bake cycle, CC200 Dynamic Clearcoat will help improve any shop’s productivity and profit.

In kicking off the show, the brand also unveiled some featured vehicles.

1934 Ford Pickup
1965 Mustang Fastback

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who pilots the #17 Ford of Roush-Fenway Racing, helped to pull back the covers and show off two of the most anticipated builds to be exhibited at SEMA. Sherwin-Williams, which is the Official Auto Paint of NASCAR®, and Stenhouse, were excited to showing off two unique Fords, both entered in SEMA’s 2016 the Battle of the Builders

The first vehicle, a 1965 Mustang Fastback features the first ever Roush Yates built NASCAR Engine in a street car. The engine will produce 850 horsepower (hp) at 9000 rpm. The car is up for Muscle Machine of the Year in 2017.

The second vehicle, a 1934 Ford Pickup is a hot rod with sports car driving characteristics as it’s powered by a 620 hp LSX454 and features a custom built frame, bed, hood and lower half of the cab from scratch.

In addition to the special show cars (both finished with Ultra 7000® refinish system and the new Dynamic Clearcoat), the Sherwin-Williams exhibit will feature daily booth giveaways – Come and enter for your chance to win a Yeti Tundra 45 cooler. One winner will be chosen each day.
