O’Reilly to Acquire New England Parts Chain

Dec. 20, 2012—O'Reilly Automotive Inc., a provider of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase the auto parts assets of VIP Parts, Tires & Service.

VIP is an auto part, tire and service chain based in Lewiston, Maine. The company operates 56 store locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

After the purchase, O’Reilly—which operates 3,896 stores in 39 U.S. states—will own and operate VIP’s auto parts sales and distribution operations. VIP will retain its tire and service components.

The acquisition will be completed by Dec. 31.
