CAPA adds new member to board of directors

April 11, 2012

April 11, 2012—The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) has elected Carol Waldron of State Farm Mutual Insurance Co. to its board of directors, the organization announced Wednesday.

Waldron has worked for State Farm in several roles since 1986, according to CAPA. She has served the company as an auto claims representative, section manager of the Florida region, assistant division manager of the Northeastern region, claims manager in metropolitan New York, director of the business and technology integration office, and assistant vice president of learning and development.

CAPA said Waldron currently serves State Farm as assistant vice president of consulting services for property and casualty claims.

“CAPA is fortunate to have Carol join us in our effort to ensure truly high quality alternative parts are readily available to the market. Carol’s extensive background contributes to the broad range of industry expertise and organizations who’ve joined together on CAPA’s board to keep repairs affordable, cars repairable and protect consumers from poor quality,” said Jack Gillis, executive director of CAPA. “State Farm, and many other diverse organizations, joining together in CAPA, provide a unique insight into issues facing the aftermarket parts industry and make an important contribution to CAPA’s continuing success. We look forward to working with Carol.”

CAPA’s eight other current board members include the following:

• Bill Brower of Liberty Mutual Insurance
• Bill Daly of Allstate Insurance
• Bill DeGrocco of GEICO
• Jack Gillis of CAPA
• John Palumbo of PartsChannel Inc.
• Clark Plucinski of Boyd Group
• Ed Salamy of K.S.I. Trading Corp.
• Ben Steinman of Ben's Auto Body
