Nov. 13, 2012—Norton Automotive Aftermarket, a refinishing brand of Saint-Gobain, on Monday announced the launch of a new disposable paint cup system called the TORQ Paint System with SpillGard.
Norton said its TORQ Paint System is designed to increase productivity, improve efficiency and reduce waste for body shops. The system is comprised of SpillGard technology, which includes a quick-connect lid, self-sealing valve and triple seal. All components of the paint system are disposable, which allows technicians to use completely clean systems in the paint booth to eliminate the possibility of contamination.
The quick-connect lid can be securely locked onto a spray gun with a click that technicians can both hear and feel. With the self-sealing valve, Norton said the TORQ Paint System eliminates the need to use plugs for transporting, storing or shaking paint. Three separate seals within the lid and liner ensure that paint remains inside the cup without any leaks. Norton said the self-sealing lid is offered in various filter sizes for both solvent and waterborne paints.
In addition, Norton said the TORQ Paint System’s extra large filter size and expanded space between the filter and the tower allows for increased paint volume for optimal flow.
“Paint is a large portion of business for body shops so it is critical to make the process as efficient as possible,” said Biagio Pellegrino, senior product market manager for Norton. “The new disposable TORQ Paint System with SpillGard gives shops an edge on efficiency—technicians can prepare the paint in advance and ‘grab and go’ as needed, with minimal clean up.”
