Clean Diesel Vehicles Key to D.C. Sustainability Initiative

Jan. 9, 2014

Jan. 9, 2014—The Diesel Technology Forum, a non-profit national organization dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of diesel engines, presented a statement to the Washington, D.C., city council on the Omnibus DC Sustainability Act on Wednesday, encouraging the use of diesel engines.

The Omnibus Sustainability Act’s proposed legislation includes a provision that doesn’t allow any vehicle to operate exclusively on the combustion of petroleum diesel fuel beginning Jan. 1, 2018.

The group aims to have diesel a part of the sustainability initiative, it said via press release_notes, and said diesel engines already offer a cleaner alternative to other types of engines.
