May 5, 2011 — More than 100 women took part in the Women’s Industry Network’s (WIN) annual Scholarship Walk earlier this week, raising a record $5,000 for students and others involved in the collision repair industry.
The walk, sponsored by Enterprise, took place on the second day of the WIN Conference May 1-3 in San Diego.
“WIN’s annual scholarship walk has become a tradition at the conference,” said Stacee Royce, who chaired the scholarship walk subcommittee. “This was a record year for donations and we are grateful to all the women who participated; to our presenting sponsor, Enterprise; and to our other corporate donors, PPG and Car-Part.com. These funds will allow WIN to continue to offer scholarships to students and other industry participants.”
WIN also presented Mary Kunz of MSK Consulting with this year’s Cornerstone Award at the conference. A Cornerstone Scholarship was awarded to Jessica Crowley, a collision repair student at the College of Western Idaho.
The organization recognized its 10 scholarship winners as well.
Student recipients were Hannah Nickles, Ozarks Technical Community College; Kendy Maddox, Southeast Community College; Rickia Mines, Center of Applied Technology North; Jessica Crowley, College of Western Idaho; Jessica Gauthier, Green River Community College; and Mollee Lunkwitz, Southeast Community College.
Instructor scholarships went to Michele Charlebois-Didreckson of Ozarks Community College and Rodney Bolton of the Center of Applied Technology North. Employee scholarships were awarded to Tona Haywood of Gautier’s Auto Body and Glass and Teresa Super of TGIF Body Shop.
