VISION Honors Top Educator, Contributor

March 28, 2016—The VISION awards committee announced the honorees of its awards during the 2016 VISION Hi-Tech Training and Expo in Overland Park, Kan.

Jeremy O’Neal of AdvisorFix was awarded the inaugural ASA-Midwest President’s Award. The award was established to honor an individual or company who has made significant contributions to ASA-Midwest and the independent automotive service industry. 

Jeffry Curtis, with more than 45 years of experience as a diesel equipment technician and instructor for 22 years, was honored with the 2016 Educator of the Year Award. Curtis currently holds the position of Diesel Equipment Technology Instructor at Bellingham Technical Institute. The Educator of the Year Award was established to honor an educator that goes above and beyond in inspiring students, developing innovative training programs, and working with the industry to further the opportunities for tomorrow's technicians.

Other award winners from the 2016 VISION Hi-Tech Training and Expo include Mark and Summer Guerrero, After Hours Auto Care with Best Website; Angelo Diamatopoulos, Advanced Auto Electric, ASA-Midwest Technical Training Scholarship; Alberto Hernandez, Wheat State Automotive, Robert L. O'Connor Memorial Management Scholarship; Butler's Muffler & Auto Repair, Larson's Service, Inc., Green Star Service Facility; Michelle Dorrance, Cheyenne Merchant, Anthony Kelley, and Austin Bentley, ASA-Midwest Student Scholarship; and Nathan Hayes & Larry Grimm, Team One Automotive, Facility of the Year.
