SCRS Announces OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit Panelists

Sept. 26, 2016—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) announced additional details about its OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit, to be held Nov. 3 during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. 

The first session, OEM1 - Restoring Vehicle Functionality through Electronic Technology and Diagnostics, will discuss how vehicle technology and function advancement meet consumer expectations for safety, convenience and luxury options. It will also discuss the role of diagnosing accident- and repair-related failures in the systems. 

John Ellis of Ellis & Associates will moderate a two-part panel during the session. 

The first part of the panel will discuss technological developments contributing to the need for a systematic approach fixing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). The panelists will include John Hughes, Collision Repair Responsible, FCA; Justin Miller, planner, Certified Collision, Nissan North America; Chris Tobie, collision business specialist, American Honda; and Eric Mendoza, Collision Repair & Refinish Training assistant manager, Toyota Motor Sales. 

The second part of the panel will feature diagnostic equipment and service providers that have developed technological solutions for the industry, including different mechanisms available to the collision repair community and how to address unique challenges and advantages associated with each. The panelists include Chuck Olsen, executive director of operations, AirPro Diagnostics LLC; Bob Pattengale, training manager, Robert Bosch LLC; Doug Kelly, CEO of Collision Diagnostic Services; Jason Gabrenas, national diagnostics trainer, Snap-on Diagnostics; and Jason Bartanen, director of Industry Technical Relations.
