SCRS to hold SEMA fundraising effort supporting wounded military soldiers

Oct. 21, 2011

Oct. 21, 2011—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) on Thursday announced it will hold a silent auction during the 2011 SEMA Show to raise funds for Operation Comfort, a nonprofit organization that provides support to wounded military service members.

Operation Comfort, based in San Antonio, runs a program called Automotivation. The program allows wounded service members to work on vehicles, and learn repair techniques and processes as a form of occupational therapy and career re-placement, according to the SCRS.

The silent auction will be held in SCRS’ exhibitor booth, 10727 in the SEMA Show’s North Hall.

Afterburner Inc.’s Flawless Execution One-on-One DVD Series will be up for bidding at the auction. The series is a course of three DVD learning modules designed around the Flawless Execution Model. The three-part course guides users through the following: development of an organization's future business strategy, aligning campaign and mission plans to that strategy, executing those plans, and continually learning from that execution in a fast-paced modern business environment.

The DVD series was donated by the SCRS with a retail value of $1,785.

SEMA attendees are also able to make individual donations to support Operation Comfort. Individual donations will be accepted at SCRS’ booth at the conclusion of its Repairer Driven Education (RDE) headline presentation from Afterburner Inc.

Two vehicles that soldiers have worked on through Operation Comfort’s Automotivation program will be on display at the 2011 SEMA Show. The vehicles include a 1957 Dodge Power Wagon, which was used by the Army as a weapons carrier, and a 1966 Cobra kit car.

The 2011 SEMA Show is scheduled for Nov. 1-4 in Las Vegas.
