Gerber opens NC center

The Boyd Group Inc. has opened a new Gerber Collision & Glass Center in Jacksonville, N.C. This facility is located between two of our existing locations in Havelock and Wilmington. Demographically, Jacksonville is known as the youngest city in the United States with an average age of 23 resulting from a large military presence nearby. This Jacksonville-Onslow Drive location is approximately 15,000 square feet and was previously operated under the name of Auto Works. With this addition, the Boyd Group now operates 24 repair centers in North Carolina bringing the total number of U.S. locations in operation to 220, including those branded as Hansen Collision and Glass. "The addition of the Jacksonville-Onslow Drive center is very well situated and allows us to expand our reach to new customers while better assisting our insurance clients," says Tim O'Day, president and COO of the Boyd Group's U.S. operations. "The addition of another center in North Carolina demonstrates our continued commitment in adding single-locations as we continue to execute on our strategy to grow 6 percent to 10 percent through single-location additions."
