Final touches are underway to complete an extensive renovation of the 40,000-square-foot shop, which is one of the largest collision repair centers in the Bay Area, according to Craig Moe, president and CEO.
This shop will feature state-of-the-art waterborne paint booths, preparation booths, IRT paint curing technology, dedicated aluminum welding booth and welders, Jollift, Chief and Car Bench frame straightening and measuring equipment, Hunter wheel alignment rack and tire handling equipment, factory-equivalent resistant spot-welding, and computer management systems.
In addition to collision repair, this full-service auto repair center will offer auto glass, a detail center and mechanical repairs. It also offers an Enterprise rental car office on site, a comfortable waiting area, a customer business center equipped with computers and high-speed WiFI access, and a complementary Starbucks coffee bar. It is a direct provider for most insurance companies and a referral choice for many new car dealers, according to Moe.
"This location allows Car West to expand our Silicon Valley footprint to San Jose, further building on our goal of servicing all of the California Bay Area with the best collision repair experience available," he said.
"Our business model focuses on larger, highly equipped lean facilities with huge capacity," Moe said. "We feel that this is extremely important going forward due to the complexity of the vehicles in the coming years that will require a major investment in specialized equipment and technician training.

San Jose is the sixth location in the Car West chain of body shops, which is located in Dublin, Fremont, Mountain View, Santa Clara, and Yuba City.
