Petty's Garage to have second annual car show Memorial Day weekend

Petty's Garage, Richard "The King" Petty's high-performance speed shop, will hold its second annual Spring Fling Car Show on Saturday, May 26, at the shop in Randleman, N.C. The event will also include a cruise-in on Friday, May 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Richard Petty Museum. The public is welcome to attend both events. There is no charge to walk the show or watch the cruise-in.

The Spring Fling Car Show, sponsored by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), is open to all makes and models. The $30 entry fee supports the Petty Family Foundation. Participants receive a T-shirt, Legacy by Petty poster, show plaque and space in the cruise-in (normal admission applies to enter the Museum). There are many trophy classes with multiple prizes to be awarded.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on May 26. Judging begins at 1 p.m. Attendees can meet the Petty's Garage team of experts who design and build custom and modified cars, including the new Richard Petty Signature Series 2012 Mustang and the Limited Edition Richard Petty Signature Series Challenger. Free tours of the garage will be offered. Attendees can also check out the new Petty's Garage 2012 Performance Tour Show Trailer that is traveling the country carrying the limited edition cars and the exclusive Richard Petty tribute Challenger, Legacy by Petty, to events across the United States. The Performance Tour is sponsored by ALI, Continental Tire, National Fleet Solutions and Forgeline.

The Spring Fling will be held at Petty’s Garage, 311 Branson Mill Road in Randleman, N.C. Space is limited to 200 participating vehicles. Register online at www.pettys-garage.com/store or call (336) 495-6651. The official show manager is Piedmont Mopar Club.
