Continental opens $55 million auto electronics plant in India

Continental has opened a new automotive electronics manufacturing facility and research and development center at Bangalore in Karnataka, India.

Continental has opened a new automotive electronics manufacturing facility and research and development center at Bangalore in Karnataka, India.

Based in Hanover, Germany, Continental aims to achieve a 60 percent annual growth rate at the facility by 2012 and boost Asia sales to 25 percent of its aggregate global sales by 2015.

The plant will develop and manufacture products for three Continental divisions: chassis and safety, interior and power train.
