Stertil-Koni USA, the vehicle maintenance industry’s leading provider of heavy-duty lifts, has acquired manufacturers ALM Corporation and Fleet America Service Technology to expand its product and service offerings.

Stertil-Koni’s parent company, Stertil B.V., acquired the companies in July.

ALM, based in Streator, Ill., is a 23-year-old noted quality lift manufacturer that will help Stertil-Koni establish a U.S. presence and better meet global supply demands.

Also that month, Manheim, Penn.-based Fleet America Service Technology was purchased. Responsible for developing an innovative shallow-pit designed heavy-duty scissors lift for axle-based vehicle lifting, Fleet will enhance Stertil-Koni’s product offerings. The lifts will continue to be manufactured at Fleet’s existing warehouse.

Since operations began in Maryland in January 1997, Stertil-Koni has focused on becoming a leader in all aspects of lifting for heavy-duty vehicle maintenance. From a single mobile lift product offering upon its opening, Stertil-Koni’s line now includes mobile two-post lifts, four-post lifts, parallelogram lifts and in-ground hydraulic lifts and half-scissor lifts.

“The integration of these two companies into Stertil-Koni’s portfolio allows the company to offer the widest spectrum of heavy-duty lifting devices available anywhere on the planet,” says Jean DellAmore, president of what is now the fastest growing heavy-duty lift company in the United States. “It fulfills Stertil-Koni’s long-term objective of becoming the global one-stop-shop for all potential users of heavy-duty lifts.”
