Hankook is again the exclusive
tire supplier for the upcoming season
of Car Warriors on the
Speed Channel.
The show, returning for a second year
beginning Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. ET, will
feature the company’s tires in its
ultimate car building competition,
which pits two shops in a 48-hour race
to build an entire custom car.
“We are excited to be back for season
two of Car Warriors,” reports Soo Il
Lee, president of Hankook Tire America
Corp.
“As we continue to grow, reach new
heights with our brand and achieve
further market penetration here in the
U.S., strategic marketing efforts like
this give us a unique opportunity to
not only highlight our innovative
technology and leading products but
also engage consumers in new ways,” he
says.
Jimmy Shine, lead builder at
California’s So-Cal Speed Shop, will
host this season and also use his 30-
plus years in the custom car building,
tuning and racing world to judge what’s
hot and what’s not, and which team will
be going home winners.
Industry experts Ray McClelland and
Brad Fanshaw have joined the show this
year, and will each be assigned to a
team to provide guidance and build
assistance.
The tire maker’s continued involvement
in Car Warriors is an integral part of
its ongoing marketing and heightened
awareness efforts, according to Lee.
In addition to Car Warriors, the
company name can be seen in print, web
and broadcast advertising, court-side
at men’s and women’s college basketball
games, behind home plate at 26 Major
League Baseball parks across the
country, in New York City on Hankook’s
Times Square billboard, and at
motorsports events such as the Formula
Drift racing series.
Following the season opener of Car
Warriors, episodes can be seen weekly
each Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET,
beginning with episode two on Feb.
29.
